Human Resource Management System

This system is a human resource management system developed for a  public government entity.  The system allows tracking existing employee data including personal histories, skills, capabilities, accomplishments and salary, and implements several processes in personnel selection which are very strict.

The system uses digital signatures in order to ensure the authenticity of documentation and data which is attached and added at different steps of the process and also generates electronic documents which must be printed out in order to serve as hard copies of all final personnel decisions.

Technology

The application was developed entirely with Microsoft technology using a .Net-based multi-layered architecture with a web front-end. The code was programmed using C#, ASP.NET and an SQL Server database.

Roles

Presentia stepped into the second phase of the project which included designing and developing all the processes which handled work history management and personnel selection.

Social Inclusion Plan support system

This application was designed in order to provide support for the human resource teams responsible of executing a government Social Inclusion Plan which tracks the progress of ex-convicts as they are reintegrated into society.

Technology

The application was developed completely in a Java-based Open Source platform. It is a three-tier web application that makes use of powerful frameworks such as Struts, Spring, Hibernate and Acegi in order to implement its various components. MySQL was used as the database and data analysis reports were developed with Jasper Report.

Roles

Presentia became involved in the second phase of the project, becoming the sole development company in charge of executing the project and providing support and maintenance for the system once finished.

Management of social security benefits (state owned entity)

This project was developed for an organization which provides social security and welfare services for over a million beneficiaries, including retirement, disability, unemployment, survivorship and health care benefits.

This system was a result of a reengineering process within the organization and is today in charge of handling and monitoring all benefit requests, validating and enforcing qualification requisites and calculating social security payments for all beneficiaries. This project was tackled by four software companies and a workforce of over 100 persons.

Technology

The system was built using a three-tiered architecture with a web front-end and was based on Microsoft’s DNA technology. The front-end was developed using ASP pages generating HTML, the business components were written in Visual Basic and Visual C++, and the data layer used Oracle with a series of stored procedures for implementing time-critical transactions.

Roles

  • Definition and documentation of coding standards and best practices to be used by developers for the entire project.
  • Design and implementation of generic software components.
  • Training new programmers on the project’s architecture and work methodology.
  • Development of one of the project’s main modules
