Investment portfolio support system

This system was developed with the objective of recording and analyzing financial indicators in order to provide support in managing investment portfolios. This tool allows the comparison between different investment packages, portofolio simulations, assets allocation and generates reports on all indicators.

Technology

  • Developped in .Net using ASP.NET, C#, and SQL Server 2005.

Roles

  • Integration of data visualization components in order to generate detailed graphs.
  • Design and development of statistical reports.
Signature digitalization system

This system was developed to enable signature digitalization for several branches of a multinational bank. It was made up of three main modules: the first was dedicated to capturing the signature using a hand-writing electronic device; the second allowed the digitalization using existing signed documents with a scanner; and finally a module for executing queries and for signature comparison and validation.

Technology

The application was built using a three-tiered web architecture. The system accessed the bank’s client information (stored in a AS400) using a C++ interface developed specifically for the project. The signatures and all information associated to their capture were stored in an SQL Server database. The system was developed using Microsoft products: ASP, DHTML, Visual Basic and a series of ActiveX components specifically engineered for the signature digitalization devices.

Roles

  • Design and implementation of the entire solution.
Debtor tracking system

This system’s objective was to help keep track of debtors and customers with overdue payments for a banking entity. The first part of the system was composed of a series of batch processes which ran on daily basis and discovered overdue payments, assigning priority levels according to a series of specified parameters.

The second part of the system consisted of a web application used for querying all information gathered by the automatic processes, and allowing users to take certain actions on clients depending on their level and type of debt.

Technology

All batch processing was handled directly on a database level, using a series of stored procedures programmed in PL/SQL for Oracle. These procedures were scheduled using Oracle tools and were in charge of executing the business logic which determined overdue payments and set priority levels.

The web application was designed using a three-tiered web architecture and was implemented using the following Microsoft technologies and products: ASP, Visual Basic, DHTML, IIS and COM+. The front-end was developed using Visual Interdev product and the DLLs with the business logic were programmed with Visual Basic 6. The Case tool for designing the system was Rational Rose Enterprise Edition.

Roles
  • Design and partial implementation of the solution.
